Photography Instructor (Freelance).

Looking for Photography instructors to teach in person courses. For immediate start.

Responsibilities:
There are two positions availble. Canditates maybe hired for both levels below, based on skills and current demand.
Teaching beginner topics such as camera, iPhoneography, street photography, outdoor lighting, portraiture and Photoshop and Lightroom. Candidates must be willing and able to adapt the content of all basic classes to be taught in Automatic Mode and with the use of iPhone cameras. No exceptions.

Teaching intermediate topics such as: Studio & Lighting, History of photography, Documentary, TTL Flash, and Darkroom. Candidate must be able to present samples of work that reflect a solid background in studio lighting as well as in documentary photography. Strong printing and Photoshop techniques and knowledge of the history of photography.

All positions require the following:

* A photography-related degree is required.
* Teaching experience or similar aptitutes are expected.
* Abilility to engage students, teach interactively, and work well with others in a friendly environment is expected.

* Ability to improvise and troubleshoot in a classroom setting and keeping up with technology, scheduling calendars, social media and new platforms are a must.
* Ability to teach iPhoneography and basic courses in Automatic mode.
* Long term weekly availability of at least 1 year.
* Part-time availability for at least 3 days including either Saturday or Sunday.

Candidates will teach curriculums developed by PhotoManhattan by integrating their knowledge to PhotoManhattan's programs and teaching philosophy. Candidates will also be offered and encouraged to develop their own classes based on their own experience and preference.

Class schedules are variable and are mostly based on popular class times and on candidates availabiity. Instructors will be asked to provide at least 10 hours of of availability on their chosen days and times. These time frames will be used to automatically book new classes each quarter.

We recommend this position for candidates looking for predictable schedules throughout the year as well as flexibility of long term schedules. Compensation will be based on experience.

Photography Studio Assistant - Part time. Closed.

PhotoManhattan offers an artistic and creative work environment where administrative work is intertwined with Photography related tasks and projects. We are currently seeking Studio assistants.


Responsibilities include
, but are not limited to:
• Answering phone calls and aiding students and clients with photography related questions. Booking photo classes and rentals.
• Setting up and maintaining classrooms, photography studio equipment, darkroom, and exhibition space.
• Maintaining cleanliness and inventory, Entering data, Running errands. Light book-keeping.
• Editing photographs using Photoshop, Website editing using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Transmit.
• Keeping up to date with new photography equipment and usage.

Requirements:
• Computer literacy with Mac, Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word,
• Impeccable customer service skills and friendly, accessible demeanor,
• Excellent Organizational and multi-tasking skills. Poise and diplomacy under pressure,
• Ability to work alone, be a problem solver, and to to follow-up with management, co-workers, and clients,
• Familiarity with setting up and breaking down photography studio equipment, or ability to learn to do so.

Basic photography and Photoshop knowledge is preferred. Bilingual Spanish / English a plus. The ideal candidate will have an interest for growth in a creative photography environment as well as in arts administration.

Working hours are Monday through Thursday 5:30pm-11:00pm and Saturdays 2:00-7:30pm. To start immediately.
