Darkroom classes

Darkroom classes are taught via One-On-One at either one of the 3rd party darkrooms. You'll be responsible for renting either one of the darkrooms on your own:

  • Option 1: My Own color lab. 18 West 27th Street, 3rd Floor. 212 696-4107. View their website.


Class can be B&W or color printing And / or film processing.


How it works:

Step 2- Wait for our confirmation. Once we confirm, we'll hold your spot for 24 hours.

Step 3- Rent the darkroom of your choice. The closest to our location is My Own Color Lab.

Step 4- Scroll up to the top of this page to complete your paymen. Choose the in-person option.

I contacted PhotoManhattan seeking some assistance with honing my photographic  skillset.  I Googled and PhotoManhatan popped up.  Without any prior knowledge of this company, I took a chance and contacted them.  Their response time in getting back to me was amazing.  After a brief convo with them, I felt comfortable and booked a session.  

All communication leading up to the actual session was on point.  I was contacted by Benjamin Sweet, the instructor, a day before the session to fine-tune goals for the session.  

Benjamin showed up on time and was very flexible based on the logistics at hand.  He was patient, informative, pleasant, and most of all professional in his approach to teaching and listening.  

This speaks volumes about PhotoManhattan's attention to quality and delivery of service to clients with great instructors like Benjamin on their team.

I left the session more comfortable, and most of all, confident in my next steps to reach my goal.

I learned so much! Gabriel is an awesome teacher! He knows so much, goes at whatever pace you want, is very flexible and made learning photography so much easier!!! We learned all the basics, manual mode, more about aperture, cool shots, sunset pictures, how and when to use the flash, black and white photography, Lightroom and more

My daughter took the camera basics class with Skye. I observed much of the class and Skye is a gifted teacher. His knowledge, skill, ability to communicate and adapt to the needs of the student are superb. He made the class interesting, challenging and fun. Made me want to take the class, too.
