Candidate must be able to present samples of work that reflect a solid background in studio lighting as well as in documentary photography. Strong printing and Photoshop techniques and knowledge of the history of photography, ability to improvise and troubleshoot in a classroom setting, and keeping up with technology, scheduling calendars, social media and new platforms are a must. Teaching experience or ability to engage students, teach interactively, and work well with others in a friendly environment is expected. A photography-related degree is required.
This part time position *requires at least one year commitment. Candidate will teach curriculums developed by PhotoManhattan by integrating his/her knowledge to PhotoManhattan's programs and teaching philosophy. Candidates will also be required at times, based on experience, to develop curriculums and classes.
Must be available to work during summers, commit to a *minimum of 4 days & 20 hours weekly that will include about 5 hours of administrative work. Weekend availability is a must. A minimum amount of weekly hours will be guaranteed and it will be determined based on candidate's availability and skill level. We recommend this position for candidates looking for a stable schedule and who have the ability to commit to specific work hours long term. Orientation will be part of the initial work weeks.
